MY BIGGEST INFLUENCES

Over the years of my involvement in Hip Hop especially the bboy/bgirl scene I've been inspired by so many people in many different ways. Some have affected me more than others and of those people, there were 2 main ones who really helped me grow and who inspired and encouraged me especially in my dancing.

As of lately I've been inspired alot by my children.... Khan, and Jeremiah who is 4 and who has been breaking since he could walk!.... they inspire me to keep dancing coz they're dancing too.... Khan is a part of Time Bandits crew and Jeremiah who is still only young is a Bandit also but won't start representing with us until he's a bit older..... Jahnelle used to bgirl but right now she is doing the "girl" thing and doing what her friends do but she was bgirling and she is pretty dope!!......I love seeing my children doing the things that I love and so that's why I'm so inspired to dance. I'm considered pretty old for a bgirl here in New Zealand, I'm probably one of, if not the oldest.... lol... but seeing my kids doing it and being able to get out there with them makes it all even better!!

Asia one is a person who really inspired me coz when I was just starting out, we had videos that she was on and they were videos from when she had only been dancing for a short amount of time. Over time though I have watched her progressing from someone who was where I was when I first began to one of the dopest bgirls in the world. To me she not only represents physically but she represents on every other level, she is "Bgirl" and everything about her says it, her attitude, the way she dresses, the way she talks and she has the right mentality. She is someone whose footsteps I've tried to follow coz she's someone whom I saw progress from what she was to what she is today. As well as the fact that she is a beautiful person and friend, she is a female who definitely represents!!

Finally my biggest influence in Hip Hop and my dancing is my soulmate and husband Swerv. He's been there from day one supporting me and encouraging me. I get so inspired just by watching the way he dances coz he is pure bboy. Everything about him is bboy, he's a humble person and someone who has taught me alot over the years. I've learned so much from him and I've gained so much knowledge from him also. When times have been hard and I've felt like giving up on dancing he's always been there to offer support and encouragement and like my girl Spex he is never afraid to tell me where I need improvement, not just physically but also mentally. He is the main person who influenced me, that's my baby and I love him!
